New trainers: Nike Air Huarache Free 2012 Cool Grey Sky Blue

needed some emergency trainers for some beach running away in Miami. Most running shoes are so specialist they just look shit, and I'm sure marathon geeks wouldn't care less about nonsense like that, but yeah, well happy with these.

New trainers: Air Max Hyperfuse

Picked these up in the January sales. Mostly because I was still mad-fiending for the Crooked Tongues Infrareds and failing all sorts of stupid competitions for a pair. So this is the closest I got. However, these are STILL all over Footlocker shelves as of last week so the trick is to break these out in a few years time to be all superexclusivewhereyougetthose

New trainers: Air Jordan four white/grey

Only two years ago, when Jordan put out an original colour retro, you could just stroll into any high street Footlocker and pick one up for £80. Nowadays it's £110 standard, riots, instant sell outs, websites crashing so that resellers can immediately flip for twice the price and Jay-Z spilling Ace on his sick Js.

Despite that, for the white cement IV reissue (IVs were probably the first time the majority of UK males laid eyes on Jordans via the Littlewoods catalogue) they do give you a pretty box, an acceptable shape which accurately represents the original and the chance to re-enact Buggin Out's Jordan bike abuse/toothbrush rescue scenes from Do The Right Thing.

Old trainers: Air Jordan Eleven- Concord

My unworn/worn ratio is getting a bit stupid recently. But when these first came out in 2000 they were crazy Jestsons future shoes, when they were re-released in 2011, they still look like crazy Jetsons future shoes. So still waiting for the future to catch up, but by then, I'm gonna be too old to mess about in basketball trainers.

These also have the Mario Balotelli seal of approval so makes them twice as wicked.

New trainers: Air Jordan 1 x Dave White "wings for the future"

These just look awesome. Love them. Backed up with a premium quality too (such as the artist grade tongue tag and embossed paint splatter). I tried making the white reflective 3M pop, but think the flash on the camera was too big.

200 pairs in Niketown according to the guy in charge. Big boss wasn't in apparently so although they were allocating tickets, were also letting people double up. There were so many dirty resellers knocking around, stocking them up in their ikea carrier bags- a few fools thought they were getting rich.

I left with more than I needed too, maybe an extra pair just to stick on a bookshelf.

Nike ACG – Talaria Boot Quickstrike

After reading this fantastic piece about Nike's All Conditions Gear product line and it's heritage, I was convinced that I needed my first pair of ACGs immediately there and then. Was never a fan before, something about the functional utilitarian aspect of the line or maybe that walking around was nowhere near as cool as activities such as basketball, tennis or 'cross training'. In fact I had these put away for ages, having nothing which could compliment the pop-out neon and quietly seething at how easily influenced I was by internet blogs. But come snowtime and I'm the one striding around like a crispy warm-footed colossus whilst every other fool is doing their best crippled Bambi impressions.

Old trainers: Air Jordan III

Now that I finally got hold of the black cements, I thought I'd put the boys back together. The original 4 colours when they first came out, in all their re-released no Nike on the heel glory. Gotta say though, the difference in leather quality between the 2006 Fire Reds and the 2011 releases (the Cement White and Blacks) is huge, the leather feels about twice as thick and the shape is much more rounded and compact. And you don't get the size sticker on the tongue. Which is the most important thing.

New trainers: Early December

Legged it down the Supreme store to get a scarf they promised me, left with no scarf (even though there was a set in the display cabinet- livid) but a pair of Nike SB 94s instead.

"Nike Bomba Finale". Premium astroturf trainers. Guaranteed to make me good at football.

Air Jordan 3 Black Cement- nuts, a general release but sold out in every trainer shop in the UK. This led to considerable stress that I was actually going to miss out on this release. Finally found them in a bad boy New Era hat dispensary in North London. Big up J-Bees!

Arsenal 125th Anniversary Nike Air Max 1 Hyperfuse. Unbelievably, rocked up at 1pm on release day and there was still a pair of the 1 of 25 editions left. Bet all the all night campers feel silly for that.

Impossible trainers: Nike Mag

This is the closest I'm ever gonna get to the Nike Mag I think.

New trainers: Nike x Fragment All Court 2 low 'leopard pack'

Look! Leopard print! Everybody's in leopard print these days! Whooppzzz...These trainers are only effective in the summer, which we have only minus 3 days of. Not really sure about rubber midsoles in general, the way I drag my heels when I walk and the fondness puddles have of me means that they never stay ice fresh longer than one breakout. Nevermind, still superawesome though.

New trainers: Bodega x Nike Footscape Motion ‘Night Cat’

Turned up 10 minutes late on release day and had long gone. Looked everywhere around Hong Kong only to be confronted by stupid re-seller double prices. Missed the second chance release as was out drinking in a different timezone. Finally got them at the third time of asking- thanks Footpatrol! These are my new favourite shoes ever.

New boots from Nike: "Total 90 Laser Elite World Cup"

With football boots, they always make kids versions or beginners versions of the same model. This tricks the general population into believing that the safari print Miracles or whatever that some poser fool is wearing on the pitch are the exact same model as the ones that Cristiano Ronaldo is wearing or whatever. You can't tell the difference unless you look really closely at the hidden Flywire, piping or the colours of the studs and so on. The problem with being a dead-inside ridiculous trainer snob is that you always notice the most nonsense minor particulars which no one else cares about but will drive you insane. With the T90 WC Elites (at half price from Pro-Direct Soccer), there was no economy option, so all is right in the world.

And no one cares about the Superfly 2.0 soleplate the T90 Laser Elites use...

New trainers: Air Jordan 5 "Quai 54"

Sold out everywhere except Footlocker Nottingham. A welcome consolation for being made to go up to Nottingham. But to be honest, not feeling them as much as I want. Got these at the start of July which is the longest I've kept anything on ice. My dream is to swap these with some Americans for some infrareds or something.

And a new matching suitcase and some nice sensible shoes for me from the Supreme NY skate company.

New trainers: Air Jordan III fire red

Meeting up with fellas I met on the internet within Hong Kong's undergound system, to procure these 2007 retros. Bargain of the year...

EXCEPT......

After ONE breakout......

Paint utterly destroyed on the left shoe only. No idea why. Probably because they are old. Any rescue tips greatly appreciated.

Old boots from Adidas

Footwear fiending confirmed to be not just limited to trainers.

Adidas F50i, Predator Mania, Predator X and Powerswerve's and Beckham's gunmetal Pulse.

Also there and deserve a shout out are the Predator Pulse A3 and the Predator Absolutes A3. I think this was the last time anyone did any specific premium top tier astro trainers. Everyone justs wears All Ground or FG on turf now I guess, The Absolute A3 had a totally nonsense raised 2 inch A3 cushiohing heel though.

New trainers: Lunar Mariahs

First pair of kicks bought for the specific purposes of sport in ages. Pink and bouncy so won't be brave enough to be rocking up in them in the hardass pubs of London, but will be looking way more fresher on the old tennis courts.

Trainer hunting in New York

A map I made ages ago, the shopping baskets are the awesome trainer hotspots
